I had forgotten the mountains.
A friend’s birthday occasioned a trip to the Cliff Spa up at Snowbird Resort. I had never been to a spa before, and man I have to say I liked it.. I don’t know if I would have been quite as blown away from any other spa, half of the healing feeling definitely came from those gorgeous rocks surrounding us.
We swam in the rooftop salt water pool and warmed up in the whirl pool as snow began to fall in great thick flakes. I floated on my back and looked up into it falling down, It felt like melting away into oblivion.
Up there in the clear air. I’ve never been one for skiing. I’m not athletic enough. But I do feel the need to find other reasons to go up more often. The mountains are Utah’s Ocean. In some ways I love them even more than the ocean. They have trees. I feel so pulled about sometimes, by hopes and fears and wants and needs… but going up into nature grounds me. Eucalyptus Steam rooms don’t hurt either.
